Lavender Apartments
Safe, Short-Term Housing for Veterans
Lavender Apartments is a charitable initiative providing safe, short-term
accommodation for veterans and their families. Operated by the Service Personnel Anglican Help Society (SPAHS) in partnership with The Salvation Army Veteran Support Team and the RSL Veterans Support Team, it continues SPAHS’ longstanding commitment to supporting service personnel since 1915.
The program offers fully furnished units designed to give individuals and families a secure place to rest and stabilise. More than just accommodation, Lavender Apartments provides a supportive environment where veterans can recover, regroup, and access tailored services.
A key strength of the initiative is its holistic, collaborative model. The Salvation Army provides intensive case-managed housing support, while the RSL Veteran Support Team delivers personalised wellbeing assistance to ensure veterans are connected with the right long-term supports and pathways.
Lavender Apartments is transitional rather than crisis accommodation, offering stays of up to 12 weeks. Its purpose is to empower veterans and their families as they work toward stable, permanent housing and improved long-term wellbeing.

SPAHS Good Works
Our Good Works Program continues to be a core expression of SPAHS’ mission,
ensuring our activities remain aligned with our purpose as a charitable and public
benevolent institution. In the past year, SPAHS approved $421,000 in funding across five organisations supporting the wellbeing of veterans, chaplains, and their families.
